Immediate Need

Description:

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Spanish Speaking Founding Preschool teacher with a compelling and enthusiastic approach to collaborating around building a new and promising early care program in the center of Oakhurst in Atlanta, Georgia. At The Morgan Oliver School Early Care Connection (ECC), we hope to center families and experiences so all families have an exceptional early care journey for their children. We recognize that we are new and have much to learn, and we hope to find an experienced Founding preschool teacher who is interested in growing and learning with us. Our hope is that this person loves to sing, dance, play instruments and approach teaching and learning in an appreciative and magical way but who is also grounded in effective instructional approaches to learning and growing small minds. 

 

Responsibilities:

As a part of this role, you will:

 

  • Create and co-collaborate with colleagues a preschool curriculum for early childhood educational experience with a tiered tuition structure and maintain an anti-racist approach to learning and growing. 

  • Maintain a classroom of eighteen three and four year olds with structure, free choice, ample outside time and centering a curriculum which centers marginalized people.

  • Ability to work closely with founding teachers in supporting curriculum development, establishing programs and enrichment for children.

  • Provide children with a Spanish immersive experience that is culturally relevant and joyful.

  • Motivated to grow with the school. 
     

Requirements

  • An exuberance and excitement for radical change in early care.

  • A deep love and appreciation for preschool age children and experience working with them as a lead teacher.

  • An ability to develop relationships across socioeconomic backgrounds and an excitement to grow from the proximity of them. 

  • A history of teaching preschool age children in a liberatory educational environment. 

  • An innate desire to learn more and discover in collaboration with children.

  • Interested and proficient musically. 

  • Possesses an exuberant and bubbly spirit with a deep love for children 3 and 4

  • Established record of teaching 3 and 4 year olds early literacy skills, foundational math understandings and social emotional supports. 

  • Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, preferably a Masters.

Where We Work

This is a full time in person position which includes hours from 7:30-4:00. We are located in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur. We are well positioned across from the MARTA line. Our partner is Oakhurst Baptist Church.
